COACHING
WHAT IS COACHING ?
The International Coaching Federation defines coaching as a partnership: a creative, thought-provoking process aimed at helping a client draw more out of their own potential, at work and beyond it.
The ICF also draws a firm line between coaching, mentoring and consulting. Coaching does not advise. It works from the belief that you already carry the answer, and the job is to help you find it faster than you would alone.
Within the wider course of a career, moments of real clarity are rare and decisive. Coaching is where you get honest about where you actually stand, decide where you are going, and build the plan to close the gap between the two.
WHY COACHING ?
Organisations are leaner than they used to be, and the room for a wrong call is smaller. More people are expected to decide with less certainty underneath them.
A coach does not remove that uncertainty. A coach helps you set goals that actually match what you value, build the structure to reach them, and cut the stress that comes from carrying the decision alone. That applies as much to the daily calls as to the ones that will matter in three years.
MY APPROACH
I grew up in New Zealand, then built more than twenty years of career across finance, systems implementation, business development and coaching in Australia, New Zealand and the Middle East. I hold the ICF Professional Certified Coach credential: the middle tier of ICF's three levels, earned only after 500 or more hours of coaching practice and renewed every three years.
My approach blends coaching with facilitation, mentoring and advisory work through Impactful Leadership, a licensed framework built by Dane Hudson and used to mentor more than 150 CEOs and founders since 2021, shared with 900 more leaders, including inside a university MBA programme. I hold the licence to deliver it. I did not build it.
